Alaska LOVE! All Alaskans identify with the outline of our state. With 6,000 miles of raw coastline, over 3 million lakes, and mountains reaching 20,000ft tall it's hard to believe all that can be summed up in a single image, but it is so that's where I started my design. I fused my organic, whimsical layered artistic style with bold, patriotic colors to celebrate our union as the 49th state. The heart, well, I'll say it again... Alaska LOVE!

About the artist:
Dawn Gerety, the award-winning artist behind Art Seriously, is known for her compelling and creative approaches to Alaska's wildlife and landscapes through her use of unconventional interpretations and layered organic elements. Her work is seen everywhere from office suites, to private home collections, railroad terminals, and mural installations across Alaska in public schools, fire departments, and state office buildings. My favorite thing about Alaska is our seasons. I love that my closet is overflowing with everything from bikinis to camo, fishing waders to snow machine pants, and highheels to bunny boots. I feel bonded with hearty characters who also thrive in Alaska’s dramatic change from summer to winter. I haven’t found that in my other travels, and it’s those bonds that makes Alaska feel like “home”.
